This is an estimate based on the standard SSS pension formula. Actual pension may vary based on other factors such as additional benefits or policy changes.

How It's Calculated

The SSS Pension is calculated using this formula:

P300 + (20% of AMSC) + (2% of AMSC × [CYS - 10])

Where:

  • AMSC: Average Monthly Salary Credit
  • CYS: Credited Years of Service

Note: The minimum pension amounts are:

  • ₱1,200 if member has less than 10 CYS
  • ₱2,400 if member has 10-20 CYS
  • ₱3,200 if member has more than 20 CYS

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for SSS pension, you must meet these requirements:

  • At least 60 years old (optional retirement) or 65 years old (mandatory)
  • Separated from employment or ceased to be self-employed
  • Have paid at least 120 monthly contributions prior to the semester of retirement

The Social Security System (SSS) is the Philippines’ state-run social insurance program for private sector employees, self-employed individuals, and overseas Filipino workers. One of its most important benefits is the monthly retirement pension — a lifetime cash payment that eligible members receive upon reaching retirement age, provided they have met the minimum contribution requirements. Knowing how much that pension will be is critical for retirement planning, yet many members reach retirement age without a clear picture of what to expect, largely because the SSS pension formula involves multiple variables that are not immediately intuitive.

The SSS Pension Calculator removes that uncertainty by applying the official SSS formula to your personal figures and returning a complete pension estimate in seconds.

The SSS monthly pension is computed using the following formula:

Monthly Pension = ₱300 + (20% of AMSC) + (2% of AMSC × [CYS − 10])

Where AMSC is your Average Monthly Salary Credit — the average of the monthly salary credits on which your SSS contributions were based during your active membership — and CYS is your Credited Years of Service, which corresponds to the number of years you have made contributions to SSS. The ₱300 is a fixed base amount, the 20% of AMSC reflects your core benefit tied to your earnings level, and the 2% per year beyond the minimum ten years rewards longer contribution periods with a higher pension.

SSS also enforces minimum pension floors based on years of service to ensure that members with lower salary credits still receive a meaningful benefit:

  • ₱1,200 per month for members with fewer than 10 Credited Years of Service (though at least 120 monthly contributions are required to qualify for a pension at all)
  • ₱2,400 per month for members with 10 to 20 Credited Years of Service
  • ₱3,200 per month for members with more than 20 Credited Years of Service

If the formula produces a result below the applicable floor for a member’s CYS bracket, the minimum pension applies instead.

To illustrate: a member with an AMSC of ₱20,000 and 25 Credited Years of Service would compute as ₱300 + (20% × ₱20,000) + (2% × ₱20,000 × [25 − 10]) = ₱300 + ₱4,000 + ₱6,000 = ₱10,300 per month. Since this exceeds the ₱3,200 minimum for members with over 20 CYS, the formula result applies. On top of the monthly pension, SSS also pays a 13th month pension — an additional payment equal to one month’s pension — bringing the annual total in this example to ₱134,900.

To use the calculator, enter your Average Monthly Salary Credit, your Credited Years of Service (minimum 10 to qualify for a pension), and your expected retirement date, then click Calculate Pension. The results display your estimated monthly pension, your 13th month pension, your total estimated annual pension, and your formatted retirement date. The calculator also applies the minimum pension rules automatically, so the result already reflects whichever figure is higher — the formula output or the applicable floor.

To qualify for an SSS retirement pension, members must be at least 60 years old for optional retirement or 65 years old for mandatory retirement, must have separated from employment or ceased self-employment, and must have paid a minimum of 120 monthly contributions prior to the semester of retirement. Members who have not yet reached 120 contributions may qualify for a lump-sum benefit instead of a monthly pension, but that calculation falls outside the scope of this tool.

This calculator is most useful for active SSS members who want to project their retirement benefit well in advance so they can assess whether their expected pension will be sufficient to cover their retirement expenses or whether supplemental savings are needed. It is equally helpful for HR practitioners advising employees approaching retirement age, for financial planners incorporating SSS entitlements into a client’s overall retirement income plan, and for members who simply want to understand how additional years of contribution or higher salary credits would affect their eventual monthly benefit before making career or employment decisions.
